Earlier in the year, as part of the English curriculum, the senior room studied the genre of recount writing. Whole focusing on learning and using the language of recount writing, the children published their own newspaper article which made it into the first issue of ‘Kilrusheighter Times’.  Applying what was learned writing articles, the children were busy in the News Station preparing their own news broadcast. After watching and observing news presenters, the children compiled their breaking news, sport stories and weather forecast. The groups presented the rest of the class with an up to date, relevant and professional need bulletin.   |
