Today a Marine Educator, Shóna, visited our school to facilitate a ‘Seashore Safari’ workshop with the pupils in the Senior Room.
During the information session, we learned about sharks, fish and shellfish that we find locally and in Irish waters, the importance and uses of water in our world as well as how to take care of our oceans and waterways 🌊⛵️♻️🐠
After absorbing the new information we had learned, we headed off to Aughris to complete our very own seashore safari. We identified a large variety of seaweed, shell creatures and sea creatures during our visit.
Huge thank you to Shóna and the Marine Institute for facilitating the ‘Marine Explorers’ Programme with us.
It is great to bring learning outside of the classroom and into our local community! 🏫
