In St. Mary's NS, we strive
to help raise happy
and healthy children.

St. Mary’s National School is a two-teacher school situated in Kilrusheighter, County Sligo in the North-West of Ireland. Our school is bordered to the north by the wild Atlantic Ocean and to the south by the beautiful Ox mountain range. Despite this rural paradise, we are still only a 20-minute drive from Sligo town, the main town in our region.

While on-site records available date back to 1919, there has been a school on the present site even before that date. Our present school was built in 1961 and extended in 2002 to ensure that it has all the facilities necessary in a modern school. Today it caters for boys and girls from the ages of 4 to 13 (Junior Infants to 6th Class). It is a Catholic school under the patronage of the Bishop of Killala.
